Here's the picks off the half-roll I had from the rally on the 22nd. The other half of this roll was the Critical Mass photos posted earlier. There is still a roll of black and white photos to go up then that will be it for the Peace Rally
For my other photos from the rally and march, go to:

Estemates I've heard put the numbers around 2000 people.

Hamas and Hezbollah flags?
Did any one else notice in the days following the rally: a few letters to the editor of the Free Press claiming that there were numerous Hezbollah and Hamas flags and "scarves" being flown and worn? What up with that?
this is what the Hezbollah flag looks like:
I'm sure I didn't see any thing like that at the rally.
As far as I can tell, Hamas doesn't have a flag (but i might be wrong...). they do have a seal though. I didn't see much of that either.
And what the hell is a Hamas Scarf or a Hezbollah Scarf any way? Were they referring to a keffiyeh maybe?
I dunno, the implication that this was a rally in support of Hamas or Hezbollah smacks of someone trying to discredit an opposing view.
That's just my take on things...

I dunno about scarves, but in the second photo I think I see an ass grab.

letters
Here are a few letters that were sent to the F Press in response to the recent Zionist propaganda in the paper (about the July 22 demonstration being pro-"terrorism" and pro-Hezbollah, etc):

Anyone concerned with this should also read Wa'el Haddara's article:

flags
There were actually two Hezbollah flags -- very briefly.
"I was standing at the edge of the rally on King St. and a group appeared with an anti Hezbollah sign (on one side of a placard - the other side said peace) and the police told them they could not be there with that sign. A discussion ensued about freedom of expression which the police answered in a firm but polite fashion. Eventually the sign was ripped in half such that only the Peace part remained."One of these was an anti-Hezbelloh flag, though. Nevertheless, the police didn't allow the people to carry the flag. Here's a summary of what happened (from a private e-mail):
As for the single pro-Hezbollah flag at the demonstration, the police didn't allow it either.
So, not only was the Hezbollah flag removed -- it was also cancelled out by an anti-Hezbollah flag, which was there very briefly as well.
The reports in the newspaper letters are just lies!
that's wacky
how can they disallow a flag?

Sure
That's fair, but in retrospect I'm glad that the police did intervene.
Otherwise the flag would be fuel for people portraying the demonstration as something negative -- or at least dismissing it.
